Mapping Baltimore Apartheid

Mapping Baltimore Apartheid is designed for residents, learners, teachers, community organizers, fellows, nonprofit, policymakers, and organizations to learn about the policies, practices, and systems that cause differential life outcomes due to structural advantages or disadvantages in various city neighborhoods. After completing the modules, you will be able to:

• Identify specific government policies and practices of racial segregation and forced displacement
• Articulate how government-enforced racial segregation and forced displacement impact community health
• Explain how the Baltimore Residential Security Map (RSM) is fundamental with regard to access to capital
• Articulate how repeated uprootings of Black neighborhoods have damaged Black neighborhoods
• Begin thinking about how Baltimore's history informs the work of your organization and what it takes to foster racial equity
