Hi, I’m Dr. Lawrence Brown
From 2010 to 2019, I served at Morgan State University in the School of Community Health and Policy as a professor. I've been a featured expert in the documentary Owned: A Tale of Two Americas discussing urban policy and in BET's Finding Justice discussing toxic lead exposure. In June 2018, I was honored by OSI Baltimore with the Bold Thinker award for sparking critical discourse regarding Baltimore Apartheid.
I'm currently the director of the Black Butterfly Project from which springs the Black Butterfly Academy. My first book The Black Butterfly: The Harmful Politics of Race and Space in America will be published by Johns Hopkins University Press in January 2021.
